Bucks County Playhouse has announced the launch of The Oscar Hammerstein Festival, a musical theatre development program focusing on the creation of new musicals. "Thanks!" (written by Gary Adler, Phoebe Kreutz, Regina DeCicco and Lindsey Turner) has been invited to the Festival which kicks off September 26th.

A reading of "The Me Nobody Knows" (music by Gary William Friedman, lyrics by Will Holt, adaptation by Robert H. Livingston and Herb Schapiro based on the book, "The Me Nobody Knows" edited by Stephen M. Joseph) will begin rehearsals in New York City for an industry presentation in mid-September. Taye Diggs is the choreographer and Bryan Perri is the musical director. The cast of 10 actors were discovered through The Broadway Dreams Foundation

Lynne Shankel's "Shanktunes" will be directed by Stafford Arima and presented at 54 Below on October 2nd.

Rehearsals commenced on a reading of "Poster Boy" by Craig Carnelia and Joe Tracz at the Roundabout Theatre Company. Musical direction is by Rick Hip-Flores. Cast features: Katharine Boren, Logan Hart, Andrew Kober, Omar Maskati, Ken Robinson, Max von Essen & Noah Zachary.

A concert featuring highlights from "Tiananmen" (written by Drew Fornarola and Scott Elmegreen) will be presented at 54 Below on March 27th. "Tiananmen" follows the story of the 1989 Tiananmen Square protests in Beijing. Performers include: Ruthie Ann Miles, Telly Leung, Karl Josef Co, Jaygee Macapugay, Orville Mendoza, Katie Boren, Billy Bustamante, Ali Ewoldt, Calli Buetow, Kiet Tai Cao, Katie Lee Hill, Eric Badiqué & Toren Nakamura. Music direction and orchestrations are by Rick Fox.

A developmental reading of "Thanks! - A Musical Feast in Two Helpings" took place in New York City. "Thanks!" is written by Gary Adler (Music), Phoebe Kreutz (lyrics), Regina DeCicco (book) and Lindsey Turner (book). The musical director for the reading was Paul Masse. Cast featured: John Behlmann, Megan Lewis, Ann Harada, Phillip Boykin, Robert Creighton, Jennifer Perry, Josh Lamon, Michael Mastro, James T. Lane, Kenita Miller, Elizabeth Judd, Michael Tacconi, Ginna LeVine, Kiet Tai Cao, Brock Yuric, Nancie S. Byrne & James Judy.
